So you think NightVision Toastmasters may be for you? Like the Chinese proverb says, “a journey of a thousand mile begins with a single step.” Take action! Your toastmasters journey also begins with a single step of coming to one of our weekly meetings.
As a guest, you will have first hand experience what it is like to be part of a toastmasters meeting. Enjoy and be entertained by the speakers of the week deliver their speeches. Be inspired by insightful critiques and evaluations delivered by speech evaluators. You may even have an opportunity to participate in the meeting as an impromptu speaker, or fill into one of the meeting roles. Best of all, you can attend as a guest for FREE!
HOW DO I JOIN?
If you have attended our meeting as a guest and decided you want to become a member of the club. Wonderful! We would love to have you join us too! Simply request our membership form and hand it back to us. We’ll take care of the rest!
Per Toastmasters International guidelines, our club has a voting process to vote in a new prospective member. Don’t worry, it is simply a formality and reserved for extraordinary circumstances. We have never voted to reject a new member application.
Once you have been voted in by the club, your application will be accepted together with your membership fee for the current term. Our executive team will then register you as a member with Toastmasters International, set you up in our mailing lists and website, and you’ll begin your toastmasters journey!

Night Vision Toastmasters Club Membership Fee Structure
- If you are a first-timer Toastmaster, a one-time New Membership fee of $50 is collected to cover new member set up cost at Toastmasters International and at club level. You will only pay it once in your lifetime, even if your Toastmasters journey gets interrupted due to various reasons, or if you need to transfer to other clubs.
- An additional $125 (prepaid 6-months) is collected to cover all the overhead costs Night Vision Toastmasters Club needs to pay rental, meeting material costs, and budget required for educational or membership building activities. Membership fees are collected semi-annually, once from April 1 to September 30, and again from October 1 to March 31.
- For any members, new or reinstated, who joined in the middle of the above-mentioned two renewal cycles, membership fees are prorated depending on the month you join. The current monthly due is approximately $17.00 per month.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I JOIN?
Once your membership has been processed, you will become a full-fledged member!
You will have access to our meeting management system, and begin taking on meeting roles at club meetings. We make sure to start you with smaller roles that require less preparation and speaking, growing eventually into larger and more demanding roles.
The first major milestone of a new toastmaster is the first speech project—the Ice Breaker. It is usually done several weeks after you become a member. This is your first opportunity to deliver a prepared speech to the club, and for club members to get to know more about your background. Don’t worry about being nervous! The club is here for exactly this purpose—to support you in your personal development. Besides, from everybody we have seen, you speak better than you may think!
If you wish, you can be paired with a toastmasters mentor who will give you one-on-one attention and feedback. Your mentor will help familiarize you with the meeting roles, perhaps help you work on your speech projects, introduce you to the toastmasters education program, the club, and the organization.
After that, it’s up to you how far you want to go in your journey! Do you want to win a club speech contest? Do you want to become the next World Champion of Public Speaking? Do you want to become the club president? The sky is the limit, and it’s all up to you!
